I really love the concept of this Art programme. As part of the rehabilitative programme, patients who are interested in art making are recruited into this programme whereby professional artist will come to the ward to teach the patients some basic art making skills, and thereafter, patient can continue to brush up their art skills back in the community. All the art pieces are done by patients with some form of disability, while the sketches of the patients are also done by a patient.
Such display of art works can really boost the patient's dignity and self-confidence.
Staff from the Social Work department.
Their speech therapists really do have many gadgets to play with!
Part of the hospital. Gives me the feel of TTSH CDC.. But I love the clear skies and fresh air..
This is a part of a wellness garden. All the plants are grown by patients themselves..
There are like basil, strawberry... all sorts of fruits and vegetables! Even the wooden tray that holds that plant is made by patients.
This whole pillar is also made by patients from scratch! This patient even invented the pulley system.
My field visit group, I am the only Singapore, while the others are either physicians/administrator/ psychologist/ social worker from Thailand, Bangkok. The 2 ladies beside me are the staff of the Rehabilitation centre. The one on wheelchair is a Clinical Social Worker! Impressive isn't it?
