First in 26years
Used to have preconceived ideas about ice skating @ Kallang - its the place for ah bengs and ah lians, how dangerours ice skating rinks would be..
Finally picked up courage to go for ice skating today with Daf, Sing, Yu and Larry. Somehow there is more of the presence of ah bengs trying to show off their ice skating skills by doing a "brake" on the ice where you will see that he actually managed to "shave" of some ice off the rink.. But of course, there are people who are really concentrating improving their ice skating skills, and yes, some really very skilled ones too...
For me, its my first time doing ice-skate, and 2nd time doing skates/ blade in general. I remembered the 1st time when I tried to roller blade, i think i spent 98% of the time blading on grass! and that was donkey years ago... So, as a beginner beginner, i spent by 2hrs crawling around the brim of the rink.. at times jamming up the crawlers behind me... And there's no use for 激将法, larry.
I think the most exciting part is when the staff wanna to that maintenance to the ice.. and how suay can it be that everyone has evacuated the place, when I am still halfway to the entrance!!! Poor Yu who kindly wanted to hold me across the rink (i.e. without holding on to the sides), was terribly rejected me. And you can imagine that the BIG truck is coming out, with that driver doing something like a countdown, and me, frantically trying my best to "crawl" to the exit!! How chaotic it is??!!
In the midst of anxiety, i finally took first fall.. Luckily, I managed to get up quite quickly.
I think I will only return to the rink after I have done all the necessary sports to build back my confidence! which means, cycling is next!!
After sports, it's always FOOD. something that I am good at. We proceeded to Sin Hor San for zi char. Though Daf thinks that it is just okok, I thought the marmite chicken and sambal sotong are good. Just love to have zi char with a bunch of people! Thereafter, we proceeded to Everything With Fries for desserts. And sadly, my favourite Mille creep was sold out!! If not, I think I will surely ta bao one back home..
So yes, we are gluttons. But at least we did some sports earlier.
