today Chef Ling got no time to make delicious breakfast.. okok.. i admit.. i m juz plain lazy..

yup.. Jolli Pancake from Jollibean.. Personally, Chef Ling only likes such pancakes from Jollibean.. As for those round round pancake, Chef Ling prefers those from Mr Bean.. BUT! I do not recommend the red bean one.. seriously.. if you die die want to try the red bean one.. den go loh.. later dun come and blame me...



Chef Ling has ate 3 of them during lecture at noon for brunch..



this one is special. it is Chocolate Cheese.. 有 chocolate ice-cream 的味道 and cheese 的口感..


yup.. so poor Chef Ling only ate 3 mini pancakes plus a cup of star fruit juice for the whole day..
total cost: $2 + $1.20 = $3.20

for those who thinks that my HEP sandwich is my breakfast.. SORRY.. it was my dinner yesterday..

you will need a hard boil egg..


some prawns..


hotdogs.. actually Chef Ling has requested for cocktail hotdogs, but chef's mum couldn't find any cocktail hotdog at any supermarket..


cheese..


and of course, bread..


you cut the prawns into small pieces, sliced the egg..


slice the cheese..


oven the hotdog..


you put the cheese on the bread first, den put the hotdog ON the cheese to melt it.. den, you deco with slices of eggs and pieces of prawns..
and TA DA!! You get the HEP sandwich!!

i am suddenly overwhelmed by a 一事无成 de feeling.. What have I been doing for the past 21years of my life??

frens going overseas for SEP..

frens securing a job even before they are graduated..

sister being the chairman of Sports Club and applying this award and that award..

nope..
no SEP, no NOC, no honours, no clubs, no jobs, no this award or that award..
NO PLANS at all..

juz a very 一事无成 and 茫然 de me.. ..

i have been hanging out with S17 de people recently..
well.. actually is only Yuin Shyong, Kelvin, Paulynn and Cherry (i have been hanging out with this person VERY frequently since year 1..)

we went for dinner at Billy Bombers.. well.. the first time i went there, i didn have a good impression of it.. the food portion is very huge and that's why the price is ex..
so decided to give it another chance.. since the others haven try the food there before..

business at Billy Bombers was not that good.. even though it was a Saturday night.. or was it because it was the Billy Bombers at Century Square?

anyway, the food is so-so only.. but I am "impressed" by their milk shake.. it is literally milk shake..
if u ordered milk skake, the waiter/waiteress will walk over to your table with a metal container (the one bartender used to 调酒), give the content a shake and pour it out into ur glass and TA DA!! that's your milk shake!! How cool is that?

i think i will be very amused by this.. the shaking part is so redundant loh.. you might as well bring a ice-blender and blend everything in front of me.. CHEY..

as for the service there... hm... i have my reservations.. or maybe it is juz that "friendly" waiter who is trying too hard to be "friendly" with customers.. so in the end, he 弄巧反拙 and make all of us dislike him..
and luckily Cherry remembered that we still haven eat our dessert.. if not, we would have left the restaurant without eating it.. and to this, how come the restaurant didn take note too see if their customers have completed their meal or not?
BAD SERVICE...

so far, the best service i have had, is at airport de FIsh and Co.. do go there to experience it yourself..

and after dinner, we went to watch Final Destination 3..




feel that the movie is so-so only... not really very gruesome.. the only death that made my hair stand is the 4th one whereby the gal was pierced by NAILS.. the nails pierced through the whole face of that girl.. woah... G.R.U.E.S.O.M.E.. and the director 还 purposely give a close-shot of the face for a few seconds..
as for the other deaths, i think they were juz too fast and instant i think..
most had their heads or bodies squashed.. juz like that..

the funniest death I have to give it to the 2 tanning girls.. theirs was too "on purpose".. if u have watched it, i was referring to the wooden plank that locked their tanning cubicle.. it is too 做作了啦..
on the other hand, i think this scene might have given the guys another perspective of women's breast.. Ha..

overall, I'll give Final Destination 3 three stars out of five..
if u are an avid fan or Final Des, u can watch it and guess how the characters die..
if u have a weak heart and will faint juz by seeing an ant being squashed to death, den this movie is not for you.. You probably dun have energy to faint over 7 deaths..
And if u are like me, who is laughing at the part where Hannibal Lector ate the brain of his victim, give this movie a go!
You might be like me, "wowing" on the grusome deaths throughout the movie.. ..

oh yes, i got back my "brand new" camera le...

WTF. It is surprising that the judges in this BlogFest panel find the F-word acceptable. “Who doesn’t use the F-word? Wat abt e language? Does the more English u are, e better it is? did i tell you all the story of my poor camera which has to go for servicing when he is only about 1month old?
it's a long long story... ... blame on my IT suay-ness.

but anyway, i have sent my camera for another time of servicing because I found some scratches on my camera and I suspected that they are made by the techinician..
Actually, to tell you all the truth.. I was hoping that they can change a new camera for me. HA.

so, one week has passed.. i nearly forget that i have a digital camera.


juz now, a man from the company called me.

guess wat he told me?

A) Hi Cerene, we have looked into the problems that you feedback to us. We have polished off the scratches and your camera is now ready for collection.

B) Hi Cerene, we have looked into the problems that you feedback to us. Our deliveryman was going to send back the camera but dunno how, he lost the package on his way. He is going to pay you back a new camera and you can collect it next week.

C) Hi Cerene, we have looked into the problems that you feedback to us. We have changed a new camera for you and it is ready for collection.

How weird is that?? The delivery man lost my camera??? and he has to buy one using his own money to pay me back... poor thing....
but den i wonder again... all these is so drama loh...
maybe it is a conspiracy by the company??
They know that I wanted to change for a new camera but the company dun want to change. So they 嫁祸 to the delivery man... tricking him to deliver the camera but in actual fact, during the process of delivery, the company 派人 to 调包
so in the end, the box that he delivered is empty one!!

hope that the "new" camera is really brand new loh... and not those 2nd hand one...

luckily still got people ask me out. HA.

yesterday night i had another steamboat dinner!!! (it is my 3rd time already)
this time is with my family and relatives!!

I think i have enjoyed this year de Chinese New Year very much.. coz i get to have gatherings at my house.. normally my house is very 冷清 one.. nobody want to come my house... :(

has become the beautiful 鱼生..


my favourite steamboat..
usually the steamboat 料 i have is very simple one..
as long as got 白菜, 鸟蛋, 鱼, 虾, 金针菇, 冬粉, and some yong tao fu 料 jiu ok le..
but yesterday besides the normal fare, we got 鲍贝, 鲍鱼, scallop --> compliment from my auntie.. so goodie..


that's my cousin, posing for me to take photo... he is the same age as me.. but he is 年头 and i am 年尾..
he is still single!! so anyone who is interested, can drop me a sms or email!! ha ha..


yup.. tt's all the photos i have.. coz i am very engaged in eating.. I think i ate from 7pm till 10+..


I juz love such family gatherings!! yeah!! we shld have steamboat dinner every week.. den those people who are interested can 报名 to take part...

正月初九 天公生

"天公" is also "玉皇大帝"。
And 正月初九 天公生 celebrates the 诞生 of "天公" and is an important event for the Hokkiens.

I m not very sure how many people still celebrate this event but I have been helping out at my grandmother's house since last year..

What you will need to "拜天公"..
(**all the things below are what my grandmother normally have.. it may differs from other families**)




this is the 天公座.. it is sort of where "天公" resides.. In the middle, you can see "玉皇上帝", and that is where "天公" sits..



this is called 灯料

the usual stuff that you will need..

寿桃，寿面 and 发糕..


for these, i dunno what they are called collectively.. but individually, there are sweets, peanut candy, 香菇, 发菜, 冬粉, dao kee etc...


6 full cups of 酒..


金元宝.. got M size and XL size..


the XL size 金元宝..


one BIG bag of 金元宝.. i remembered last time we still gotta use the 金银纸 to fold into the 金元宝. but now, they are folded nicely in a packet. All u haf to do is juz to pull them out one by one..

and lastly,

sugar canes..
they are tied to the sides of the 天公座.. Sugar canes is a sign of gratitude to 天公..
As the legend goes, during the period of Chinese New Year, a Hokkien village was attacked by the army and the villagers were forced to run and hide. The reason for attack is due to the difference in language. The army heard the Hokkiens called themselves "狼" (actually is "人" in Hokkien).
During the attack, the villagers hid in a sugar cane forest for 8days and on the 9th day, the army finally realised the misunderstanding and left the village.
Thus, the villagers offered their thanks and prayers to 天公 to thank him for his protection. This event became an annual practice and has been passed down the generations till today.

we have to 敬香 and den 敬酒.


already 00.46am.. we have been making preparation since 11+..


for the first time, it is raining so heavily.. Actually I only 拜天公 since last year.. HA. but according to my mum, it is really the first time that it is raining so heavily on 正月初九.
so we waited and waited for the rain to stop and for instructions to burn the offerings..
so how do you know it is time? You think hard in your mind and if it is a 圣碑 den it's time.

when it is time to go downstairs to burn the offerings..

Put the 天公座 in the middle with the 金银纸 and 金元宝 surrounding it.. the spread of the 金银纸 and 金元宝 muz cover the 天公座 nicely so that all can burn evenly.


yeah!! the more 旺 is the fire, the better it is.. the louder the "crack" sound of the sugarcane, the better it is!!




后记: last time hor, the whole event will last from 12 midnight to the morning. that means, you will continuously burn incense from 12 to morning until you burn the offerings.. but now shld be no more le bah.. .. everything is kept simple. i think nowadays very few people do such things at home le..
the news said that temples now got make preparations for people to 拜天公 without hassle. but i dun like leh, i still prefer the traditional way..

YEAH!!!! I finally launched my new skin!!! All thanks to Miss Luo Jinyu..

i was just watching 《娱乐百分百》 about 小猪's concert at 小巨蛋的花絮。。 During the part where he spoke to the audiences that he finally had a concert and addressed his mum and dad (who has passed away), I am so touched by him that I cried loh.. ..

i think many people 看不起他 and he really 受很多苦 before he gets so famous and successful now.. According to 娱乐百分百, he has already been in the field for 11years le.. and yet, this is his first time having a concert.. and he cried when he sang 《灰色空间》。。 and of course, i cried too.. my 眼眶 has accumulated tears from the previous scene..

很遗憾的是 his dad is not around to see the concert.. once again, when he talked about this, he cried.. (me too... )
When he sang his last song for the concert, he 边唱边哽咽.. i 边看边流泪...

Finally when the whole concert end, he really cannot tahan liao.. he burst into tears and I also loh... ...
