NUS Blogfest's registration is closed and it is time for the judges to choose the nominees from the whole lot of blogs...

sounds like i am one of the committee of NUS Blogfest.. Oops, I am not. I am one of the whole lot of blogs.

Taken from NUS Blogfest site:

Judging Guidelines

The judges are not looking for something so complicated that they find it hard to comprehend. Simplicity is sometimes the best. So nothing is considered too simple to be ignored.
--- hm... i guess mine is simple enough.. so simple that it has become so boring.

Are the judges interested in complicated stuff, like how the universe came about, or why the sky is blue? Answer: No. However, the judges do value stories with depth and thought-provoking opinions that you may have. If it is something that strikes a serious chord in people, igniting serious thought, it is definitely a commendable effort.
--- erm... depth and thought-provoking opinions eh? i think mine is nerve-provoking. especially when you visit this blog everyday to find that this lazy owner hasn't been updating for weeks..

WTF. It is surprising that the judges in this BlogFest panel find the F-word acceptable. “Who doesn’t use the F-word? If there is someone who has not once used foul language in his or her life, then that person is probably an angel that only exists in Heaven,” said one of the judges. So, do not worry about obscenities or abstain from using the F word.
--- (A) I am an angel that only exists in Heaven!! Thanks judge!!

Wat abt e language? Does the more English u are, e better it is? Some judges expressed that, as blogs are not professional news stories like those in the Straits Times or CNN, it is common to see occasional short-forms in blogs. Other judges expressed that good grammar makes easy reading, and words like “cos” instead of “because”, “shld” instead of “should” tends to distort the reading pleasure sometimes. The eventual outcome: As long as it is not language from planet Mars, it should be fine.
--- ~heng... Chinese is from china not from mars... but for those com tt cannot encode chinese, it looks like language from Mars though.

So what’s the tip? “Be it just a simple day of your life, a photo-blog with more pictures than words, a response to the Katrina disaster, a movie review or just your self-created recipe, we welcome everything. What we are looking for, is the X-Factor. The main element of “BlogFest 06” is to Have FUN! So, just blog it your way, your style, as long as you are happy with it, we are ok with it!”
--- yup. tt's my way.

Once again, here are the 3 categories...
- Best NUS Blog
A blog that resonates with the NUS population.

--- hm... dun think i can qualify for this category. Unless the NUS population is as boring as me.

- Funniest Blog
Self-explanatory!

-- some people told me that my blog is funny. hm....

- Most Creative Blog
Creativity in design, writing and aesthetics

-- my design? well.. so-so nia...
my writing? erms... ...
and aesthetics? wat the hell is that!
