My First NDP

For the first time in the 21 years of my life, i finally get to go to the NDP!!! Though it was only the Preview Show, but it was better den nothing loh..
(the credit goes to wei wei who kindly gave my the tix..)

Finally i got my left wisdom tooth extracted..

Hm.. i think i had my face lengthened after the surgery!!



Post-operation:
I think this surgery is even worse than the one I had to remove an embedded tooth years ago.. The left side of my face is totally numb... The numbnes even spreads to my left ear.. But anyway, in such a condition, I can only eat porridge and cereal.. So, this means that I will get to lose weight!!! YEAH!
And YEAH! I got 5days MC!! But, that means i lost $300+ of my pay.. Boo..

AHh.. .. another week has passed.. I am getting more familiar with my job and more shou with the colleagues.. but, i am also getting more and more weird weird cases too..

Updates of the week..

Tues: A scare
My work at the hospital involves interviewing patients and assessing their financial status. Due to the group that I am in, I will get to interview psy patients. So as usual, I invite the patient into the counselling room

Me: You can take a seat over here, Mr X.
Mr X: Ok. Can you close the door?
Me: (SHOCKED). (Answered immediately) Sorry. I don't think so.
Mr X: Oh. it's ok then.

During the conversation, I found out that his condition is actually depression and mood swings.
Conclusion: That's how we always stereotype psy patients. Psy doesn't mean that they are "crazy" and will anyhow attack people. Psy conditions include a lot of things like depression, mood swings, OCD, anxiety disorder, phobia and the famous + stereotyped schizophrenia..

Thurs: Another scare
The counter people always like to scare me.. This time is a ex-member of secret society.. And after i met Ming Rong yesterday and told her my experience about the psy patient, she reminded me of the safety plan -- to sit near the door.
So this time, i chose a seat nearest to the door. but i didn't bring the panic button (SHUCKS).

Aiyah.. is another scare loh. this patient is actually quite a nice person to talk to. He told me a story:

X was a ex-inmate. He was lucky enough to find himself a job as a outdoor salesman.
On his first day of work, he went door to door to sell his product. He pressed the doorbell of the first house.
"DIng Dong"
"DIng Dong"

A lady opened the door. She saw X and of course, the tatoos on his hand. She asked loudly,
"Why you press my doorbell??!!"
"Doorbell is for people to press one right??!!"


X is being strongly stereotyped loh. Just coz of his tatoos and probably the quite fierce look, he cannot press poeple's door bells..
How are the ex-offenders going to find a job and prove others wrong when people don't even give them a chance to prove?
That's how 现实 the society is. You see people buying all the Yellow Ribbon but how many of them are actually giving them a chance?


Fri: Sparrowhawk Exercise II
Every hospital has to go through Sparrowhawk Exercise II today from 11am to 3pm.. Which means, you have to wear the famous N95 mask if you have contact with patients..
Which means, I have to wear N95 mask from 11am to 3pm while interviewing patients..
First of all, the mask is quite difficult to wear.. dunno is coz i have a small head, or a pair of too flexible ears, that the mask keep slipping off my head.. and it took 2 people to help me wear my mask..
the feeling is not quite nice, coz u are inhaling and exhaling warm air.. if you let out a deep breathe, your specs will be misted.. that's how warm ur breathe is..
and now, i think i have a pimple due to the mask..

Today is Jolin Day!!!


BUT also my Unlucky Day.. .. .. :(

slept at around 1am last night and woke up at 1pm today. 12hrs of sleep!! since i started work, i would sleep at 10pm or 11pm and wake up pat 7.30am. That's more than 8hrs of sleep!! But my 黑眼圈 seems to be getting darker and darker.. how weird is that.. 难道, the lesser i sleep, the lighter my 黑眼圈 is going to get??

Sunday is the best day and yet, also the worst day.
The best because I can slack for the whole day at home.
The worst because i gotta work the next day.
But well, that's how working life is.. tt's why now i kinda miss my school days at NUS.. though it was sucky at times (especially the tests and exams), school mates and projects were fun afterall..




Yesterday's dinner with sing sing,

we had dinner at 中环 Cafe at Tm.. Sing sing has already posed when i got my camera out.. Oh well, no choice but to take a photo of her..

so fast, another week has passed. I have already worked for 2 weeks.
2 weeks = half a month
half a month = $1000!!! Yeah!!


anyway, life has been too 'fulfilling' for me.. i have tuition almost everyday after work.. by the time i bathe, had dinner and can finally sit down to watch tv, it's already 9+ le.. so, the next activity is SLEEP.

Guess that i will only have time to go online on weekends.

I think i have enjoyed my Commencement..
Social work majors are a bunch of nice, supportive, crazy, kind, beautiful, handsome, helpful and the list can go on and on and on and on and on...
We cheered for all our social work mates when they went up the stage to receive their cert.. The audience might have thought that we are very noisy and crazy..

but anyway, Social Work ROCKS!!!

I went for an interview at TC this evening..


it was the floppiest FLOP!!! :(

i like the Hokkaido Fair at TM!! THere are so many things to buy!! But the price of the things there are a bit expensive..

Things that I bought:
1. 200g de Hokkaido Cheesecake --> $10.50
2. 160g de Hokkaido Chocolate cake --> $7.90
3. Corn flavour de potato chips --> $2.20
4. 10pcs of Hokkaido butter pancake --> $11
5. 1 meat croquette, 1 potato croquette, 1 crab cream croquette --> $7.20

BUT!! 久久一次, 开心就好!!

i have started work at CGH for 1 week and GOSH, i already have more den 5 files piling up on my table, waiting for me to do documentation.
Basically, my job scope is to
1. Interview outpatients to assess their financial status
2. After assessment, see if they qualify for assistance
3. If they qualify, issue them assistance card.
4. Document everything in the computer system

Sounds easy, BUT IT IS NOT!!
You gotta interview patients one after another loh.. After you interviewed one, there is another case file on your table and you gotta interview that patient..

Somemore, you gotta assess the patient's financial status very carefully.. coz some patients might be evasive about their financial status.. so, you gotta be very firm in asking the patients for supporting documents, and reject them for assistance if they dun qualify..

And sad to say, i have rejected one application as well as made one major mistake in approving one application... :(





one week seems to pass so quickly and yet so slowly.. ..

its my first day of work.





and i am very very tired.
