i like the Hokkaido Fair at TM!! THere are so many things to buy!! But the price of the things there are a bit expensive..

Things that I bought:
1. 200g de Hokkaido Cheesecake --> $10.50
2. 160g de Hokkaido Chocolate cake --> $7.90
3. Corn flavour de potato chips --> $2.20
4. 10pcs of Hokkaido butter pancake --> $11
5. 1 meat croquette, 1 potato croquette, 1 crab cream croquette --> $7.20

BUT!! 久久一次, 开心就好!!

i have started work at CGH for 1 week and GOSH, i already have more den 5 files piling up on my table, waiting for me to do documentation.
Basically, my job scope is to
1. Interview outpatients to assess their financial status
2. After assessment, see if they qualify for assistance
3. If they qualify, issue them assistance card.
4. Document everything in the computer system

Sounds easy, BUT IT IS NOT!!
You gotta interview patients one after another loh.. After you interviewed one, there is another case file on your table and you gotta interview that patient..

Somemore, you gotta assess the patient's financial status very carefully.. coz some patients might be evasive about their financial status.. so, you gotta be very firm in asking the patients for supporting documents, and reject them for assistance if they dun qualify..

And sad to say, i have rejected one application as well as made one major mistake in approving one application... :(





one week seems to pass so quickly and yet so slowly.. ..

its my first day of work.





and i am very very tired.

after a day of fun & food, a day of sleep, Slacker Queen finally 收拾好心情 and went for an interview this afternoon.


Venue: Changi General Hospital
Position: Medical Social Worker (3-months contract)



As usual, the interviewers are nice and friendly. What can I say? That's the trademark of we social workers..

The interview went quite smooth'y and was quite casual.. But I still ranked the interview @ TTSH as No. 1..


If I am selected by CGH, this job will only last me for 3 months and I should start work next monday (WOAH!!). Coz it's a temporary position to cover for a MSW who will be going on maternity leave.

Well... 3 months, probably quite short but still not too bad i think.
At least I could get a feel of the social work field and to see if I should continue in it.
But then again, probably 3 months is not that sufficient.

Though they sounded like they wanted to hire me, see how it goes bah.. Probably they are turned off by this conversation:


Interviewer 1: (asking another interviewer 2)
When do we need her to start?

Interviewer 2:
hm.. 3rd July, juz in case she gives birth early.

Ling:
Wow... .. That's next monday.

Interviewer 1:
Oh. that's fast. I didn't know it's next week.
So when can you start? Since you didn't state in the earliest start date.

Ling:
I juz need some time to buy clothes.

Interviewer 1 & 2:
HAHAHAHA... ...






oh yeah! TRANS is hiring social workers!!

it was supposed to be a shopping spree but it turned out that I eat more den i shop...

- 1 plate of 烧鸭果条
- 1 cup of home-made barley
- 1 bowl of 蜜瓜西米露



7.30pm --> Dessert @ Venezia Gelateria

the nice pink and brown choco ice cream is mine and once again, the dull, plain and normal white (with bits of brown) is sing sing's.. B.O.R.I.N.G..



aiyoh.... the ice cream is really very nice. especially with my combi, raspberry and belgium chocolate.. 又酸又甜
简直是太好吃了！！








and for shopping? I juz bought an orange addidas dri-fit shirt.

forgot to tell you guys that i went for an interview at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for a position as Medical Social Worker.

met 2 other fellow social work mates there.. yes. they are all vying on the same post as me..


anyway, for the interview, we still need to do a case-study loh..
1. Draw out the geno-gram and ecomap of the peron
2. Provide some assessment of the case
3. Describe the skills and knowledge essential for case management
4. Give some social work principle and ethics for this case...

but well, i think this interview is not bad. At least it is not a FLOP like the MOE one..
social workers jiu shi social workers, all of them are very friendly. Even the one who has a stern look ah, can still laugh during my interview.. i think i did a job in entertaining them.

maybe coz i m the last to be interviewed, they have no more questions to ask me until one of them has to ask:

Interviewer:
Hm.. .. i can see that you are very active in the orchestra.
Which instrument did u play?

Ling:
I played Yang Qin

Interviewer:
Oh, that one (hands showing the playing Yang Qin movement)

Ling:
(not bad. she really know what is Yang Qin)

Other interviewers:
(looking blur)

Interview:
it is very relaxing..

Ling:
(attempting to explain to the other 3 poor interviewers what a Yang Qin is)
it is the one.. squarish one..
recently there's a Mediacorp advertisement featuring it..
(actually the advertisement that ling was referring to, is the one where they show Mediacorp can do anything from Rocks to Classical Music. the one where the fat man was immense in crowds of cheer den he suddenly turned to play the Yang qin)

Interview:
OH! They show you on TV??

Ling:
NO NO. Not me, juz the Yang qin.

Interview:
oh.. not featuring you ah..



i quite enjoyed this interview coz i think i made sense in what i am talking about.. and also, i DO NOT NEED TO TRANSLATE anything into chinese.

oh yes, I'll be going for an interview at CGH on next monday!! yeah!!

after 6years of disappearance, my Tare Panda autograph book resurfaced.
all these 6 years, "it" has been quietly hiding in Kevin's house.
and on 19th June 2006, Mr Kevin is nice enuff to send "it" back to me.

after i reached home, i flipped thru my long-lost autograph.

Surprise 1:
Dear Cherry got write in this book. and she is as buai hiao bai as ever.

Surprise 2:
Qiu Ling got write in the book as well... hm.. i was wondering how come i got her to write. She was in Er hu but i was in yang qin, and seriously, we don't know each other well.
Den, i realised that she was in the same class as me. (OOPS)

Surprise 3:
YiYu also got write, he even pasted stapled his photo. And his dream is to be the greatest guitarist in the world.
(Nx time i shall bring it to show sing sing)

Surprise 4, the BIGGEST Surprise:
the one who has kidnapped my autograph book for 6 years, did not write anything at all.
(what has he been doing with my book for all these 6 years??)
